News-DemocratApril 10, 2014

Racing resumes Friday at Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville with all classes running. A new promotion this year allows fans to come down to the track at intermission to meet UMP Modified drivers for autographs and photos.

This weekend also includes quarter-midgets from I-70 QMA and the High School Pro 4 Program.

Tri-City Speedway

Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach will hold its season opener event Friday featuring all classes running, plus a kids Easter Egg Hunt and a chance to meet the Easter Bunny.

Highland Speedway

Wet weather wiped out the racing last week, so Highland Speedway is scheduled to run a full program Saturday. The night also includes a Bunny Hop and Kids Dash for Cash.

Federated Auto Parts Raceway

Bobby Pierce took the checkered flag last Saturday as he won the season-opening UMP Late Model feature race at Federated Auto Parts raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo.

Michael Kloos was second and Scott Weber was third.

Dean Hoffman won the UMP Modifieds feature, followed by Matt Mevert and Ken Schrader. Troy Medley won the UMP Sportsman feature and Travis Bittle won the Pro 4 feature.
