Sunshine Friday and Saturday; storms return Sunday

News-DemocratApril 11, 2014

The weekend will get off to a nice start. But things could get rough as it comes to a close.

Mostly sunny skies are expected Friday in the metro-east with a high temperature of 70 degrees. On Saturday it will be even warmer when the high will be 79 under mostly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service.

But on Sunday there is a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms in the forecast during the daytime hours and a 90 percent chance in the evening.

The high Sunday will be 75. But, after the storm front passes through, below average temperatures will return to the area. The high will be 52 on Monday with a 50 percent chance of rain and 54 on Tuesday under sunny skies.
