President nominates Air Force generals for promotions at Scott

— Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel on Monday announced that President Barack Obama has nominated two Air Force generals with Scott connections for promotions:

* Maj. Gen. Carlton D. Everhart II, nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as commander, 18th Air Force, Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base. Everhart currently serves as vice commander, Third Air Force, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

Everhart will replace Lt. Gen. Darren McDew, who is scheduled next month to take over as commander of AMC and receive a promotion to full general.

* Brig. Gen. Warren D. Berry, nominated to the rank of major general. Berry is serving as director of logistics, headquarters, AMC.
