Metro-east residents, plants to suffer through more cold temperatures

The temperature will remain well below normal Tuesday with a high of only 48 degrees expected under sunny skies in the metro-east.

The average high temperature for the middle of April, according to the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, is 19 degrees higher at 67.

The National Weather Service has issued a frost warning for overnight into Wednesday morning, when the low temperature is expected to drop to 32.

Sunny skies and a high of 59 are expected Wednesday, when gusting winds will blow at up to 30 mph. Overnight the low will drop to 38.

On Thursday the forecast predicts mostly sunny skies and a high of 64 during the daytime hours. During the evening there is a 50 percent chance of showers with a low of 48.
