Pay, politics and more

April 16, 2014

I have a few topics to cover.

* Maybe it's time for Belleville Mayor Mark Eckert, St. Clair County Board Chairman Mark Kern and all their cronies to cut back on their salaries and give back to the taxpayers.

* If the religion in the paper bothers some readers, they can drop the paper. That is their right.

* As for the gays, I do not care how they live in their own environment, but do not push it in my face as I believe differently. I do not push my way of life in their face.

* Greed will destroy our country if the country continues the way it is headed.

* Regarding Obamacare: Yes, most people who get it free love it. My parents taught me that you work hard and you will have good things happen.

I think it is time for we, the people, to gather together like rancher Cliven Bundy in Nevada and show the government that we are the people who pay the salaries of all these useless and wealthy politicians.

As a person who will soon be 80 years old, I still work and take care of the ill. It is a very rewarding career. I hope that at election time, people will take the time to vote -- and know for whom they are voting.
