Warmer weather in the weekend forecast

News-DemocratApril 17, 2014

Partly cloudy skies and a high temperature of 63 degrees are expected Thursday in the metro-east.

But there is a chance that rain could put a damper on the evening hours, according to the National Weather Service. A 30 percent chance of rain is predicted overnight, when the low will drop to 44.

The mercury on Friday, for the first time in nearly a week, will reach the average high temperature for this time of year, 67. Skies will be mostly sunny during the day and mostly clear overnight, when the low will be 47.

The weekend forecast looks promising. The high Saturday will be 72 under sunny skies and on Sunday it will be partly sunny and 73. There is a 30 percent chance of showers Sunday night.
