Roadwork will reduce Illinois 15 to one lane in both directions from Interstate 255 to east of Illinois 159 beginning Monday.
Two lanes will remain open in the westbound lanes between 6 to 9 a.m., and two lanes will remain open in the eastbound lanes between 3 and 6 p.m. during the workweek. The four-lane highway sees heavy traffic during commute times and state transportation officials estimate up to 35,000 vehicles travel on Illinois 15 each day.
The lane closures are required to make pavement repairs and resurface the highway. Work is expected to be complete in September.
