Lyons to start tonight vs. Mets

Left-hander Tyler Lyons will get the start at 6:10 p.m. Monday when the St. Louis Cardinals face the New York Mets in New York.

Lyons, a left-hander, was recalled by the Cardinals from Class AAA Memphis on Monday afternoon; reliever Jorge Rondon was optioned to Memphis. Rondon made no appearances during his brief stay with the Cardinals in Washington over the weekend.

Lyons, 26, was 2-0 with a 3.32 ERA in three starts for the Memphis ballclub. He struck out 18 in 19 innings and yielded just one home run. He has worked six innings or more in all three contests.

Lyons was 2-4 with a 4.75 ERA in 12 games, eight of them starts, for St. Louis in 20-13. He'll wear uniform No. 70.
