Former Post Office supervisor in ESL admits stealing packages

A former supervisor at the Post Office in East St. Louis pleaded guilty Tuesday to opening and stealing packages.

Jane Johanna Emily, also known as Jane Mueller, 41, of St. Louis, pleaded guilty in federal court in East St. Louis. She pleaded guilty to the charges of obstruction of mail, theft of mail by a postal employee, and opening of mail.

Each charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Emily is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 8.
