Police identify victims of head-on crash near Mascoutah

The Illinois State Police have released the names of the victims of a Tuesday crash near Mascoutah that left three people in critical condition.

Shea Seipp, 30, of New Baden, was driving a southbound Chevrolet Impala on Illinois 4 that left the roadway to the right. Police said he overcorrected and swerved back across the center line where he crashed nearly head-on with a northbound Buick LeSabre driven by Dorothy Hargis, 77, of Sparta.

Seipp and Hargis remain in critical condition at a hospital in St. Louis.

Anthony McGowan, 30, of New Baden, was a passenger in Seipp's car. He has been upgraded to stable condition, police said.

According to state police the crash is still under investigation. It has not been determined if any tickets or any charges will be filed in relation to the crash.
