April 25, 2014 

1-3 -- Mascoutah Homecoming: Friday through Sunday, Scheve Park, Mascoutah. Carnival rides, games, music, parades, 4-H livestock displays.

2 -- St. James Summer Festival: 3 p.m. Saturday, Parish center and grounds, 405 W. Madison, Millstadt. Chicken dinner starts at 4 p.m. Cash bingo, 5:30 p.m. Quilt/cash bingo, 6 p.m. Raffles country store, booths, games.

2 -- St. Francis of Assisi Parish Picnic: Saturday, parish hall and grounds, 2nd and Clinton streets, Aviston. Fried chicken dinner with homemade dressing and trimmings, 4 p.m. in air-conditioned hall. Quilt bingo, 6:30 p.m. Raffles, basket booths, margaritas. Grounds are handicapped accessible.

2 -- St. Anthony's Parish Picnic: Saturday, St. Anthony's Church grounds, Lively Grove. Chicken dinner, 4-8 p.m., rain or shine. Quilt and cash bingo, 6:30 p.m. Concessions, novelties, prizes, music.

2 -- Archeology Day: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site. Ancient craft demonstrations, tours of excavations, artifact washing, screening of soils from dig, Indian games, spear throwing, archeogical methods, food and refreshments. Free.

2 -- Maeystown Village Trash & Treasures Yard Sale: 8 a.m.-noon.

2 -- Schuline Cornfest: 4 p.m. Saturday, Charter Oak School, Schuline. Tours of 8-sided one-room schoolhouse, food, country store, music. Presented by Randolph County Historical Society.

6 -- Car Cruise: 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dandy Inn, U.S. 50 and Old Collinsville Road, Fairview Heights.

6 -- Party at the Park: 7 p.m. Wedesday, Prairie du Rocher. Live music and food.

6-9 -- St. Clair County Fair: Belle-Clair Fairgrounds, Belleville. Agriculture exhibits, livestock barns, carnival, arena events, free entertaintment in the Expo Hall. Free admission; $4 for parking.

8 -- Cruisin' the Dam: Friday, Mariner's Village, No. 1 Resort Drive, Carlyle. Vintage car show, live entertainment, food, games. Free admission.

8-9 -- Fairview Heights Homecoming: Friday and Saturday, Moody Park, Fairview Heights. Prince and princess contest; car show; parade on Saturday. Carnival rides, games, vendors, crafters, hot food, cold drinks, live music.

8-9 -- St. George Picnic: Friday and Saturday, St. George Church, 200 N. Third St., New Baden. Games, food, bingo and basket raffle.

8-10 -- Gateway Dulcimer Music Festival: Friday through Sunday, National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, Belleville. Classes for mountain dulcimer and hammer dulcimer, autoharp, guitar. Evening concerts featuring professional instructors. Vendors for music items. Concerts: $10.

13 -- Car Cruise: 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dandy Inn, U.S. 50 and Old Collinsville Road, Fairview Heights. First 100 cars will receive a free commemorative plaque.

15-16: Columbia Daze: Friday and Saturday, Metter Park, Columbia. Music, food, drinks, amusement rides, games, parade.

15-16 -- Freeburg Homecoming: Friday and Saturday, Freeburg Recreation Park, 300 E. Mill St., Freeburg. Rides, truck and tractor pulls, craft show, fish and chicken fry, quilt raffle, live music, each stand.

15-17 -- Germantown Spassfest: Friday through Sunday, Germantown. On Friday: Grounds, rides, food stands open at 4 p.m.; Kinder Corner with games, face painting for kids, 4-10 p.m.; Wilis Woodcarver, 5 p.m.; bags tournament, 7 p.m. On Saturday: Grounds, rides open at 11 a.m.; Kinder Corner, noon to 9 p.m.; Clinton County Humane Society Meet and Greet, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; music, 11 a.m.-1 a.m.; craft fair, noon-6 p.m.; washers tournament, noon; antique tractor and farm equipement show, noon; custom motorcycle show, noon; Home Brew Brewoff and Tasting, 3-7 p.m.; German Mass at St. Boniface parish, 4 p.m.; parade, 6 p.m. On Sunday: Breakfast, 8 a.m.-noon; raffle drawings, noon; closes at noon.

15-17 -- Balloon Fest: Friday-Sunday, Foundation Park, Centralia. Hot-air balloon festival featuring 40 hot-air balloons, races, glows, tethered balloon rides, live entertainment, craft fair, free childrens activities and games, cardboard boat races, car show, fireworks.

16 -- St. Augustine Kirchenfest: Saturday, Hecker Community Center and grounds, 2 blocks east of St. Augustine Church, Hecker. Fried chicken and pork sausage dinners in air-conditioned hall, 3 p.m.; Mass, 4 p.m.; quilt bingo, 6:30 p.m.; washer tournament, 7 p.m.; music by Riverside; youth/8th annual Tiki Trot 5K Run/Walk (tikitrot@yahoo.com for information). Picnic attractions and stands, 8-8:30 p.m. Kids corner, silent auction, cake stand, baskets, country store, sandwich stand.

17 -- Maeystown Fire Department BBQ and Show Us Your Ride: 9-3 p.m. Sunday, Maeystown. Show off you cars, trucks, motorcycles and tractors.

20 -- Party at the Park: 7 p.m. Wedesday, Prairie du Rocher. Live music and food.

20 -- Car Cruise: 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dandy Inn, U.S. 50 and Old Collinsville Road, Fairview Heights.

22-23 -- Waterloo Homecoming: Friday and Saturday, Courthouse Square, Waterloo. Live music, carnival rides, games, food. Parade is at 5 p.m. Saturday.

22-24 -- Midwest Salute to the Arts: 6-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Moody Park, Fairview Heights. The 26th celebration of fine art is the longest running art festival in Southern Illinois. Admission is free. Juried exhibition featuring artists from around the country. Art demonstrations, interactive children's Creation Station and Gallery, food court, live entertainment. Well Hugarians will play from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

23 -- St. Teresa Parish Picnic: 4 p.m.-midnight Saturday, St. Teresa School grounds, 1108 Lebanon Ave., Belleville. 4 p.m. Mass. Fried chicken dinner, silent auction, beer garden, quilt bingo, live music, poker, raffles, blackjack, Big 6 Wheel, carnival rides, kids activities, food and drinks.

23 -- Fun in the Sun Barbecue and Cruise-In Car Show: Saturday, New Baden Village Park. Car show registration from 10 a.m. to noon. Food, drinks, 50/50 raffle, music, attendance prizes.

23-24 -- St. Paul Kirchenfest: Saturday and Sunday, St. Paul Catholic Church 1412 Ninth St. Highland. Food (including Bavarian skillet dish prepared in a 500-pound skillet and sit-down chicken dinner), live music, auction, flea market, competitive run, bike ride, games.

27 -- Car Cruise: 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dandy Inn, U.S. 50 and Old Collinsville Road, Fairview Heights.

30-31 -- St. Louis Antique Show: Saturday and Sunday, Belle-Clair Fairgrounds, Belleville.

30 -- Labor Day Parade, Main Street, Belleville.

31 -- Schlambachfest: Sunday, Venneman Park, St. Libory. Washers tournament, noon; music by Hometown Boys, 1-5 p.m.; chicken and pork-steak meals, 4 p.m.; sandwiches, noon; St. Liborius Parish quilt and cash bingo, 6 p.m.; Venedy Band, 5-7 p.m; DJ, 7-11:30. Carnival rides.
