Build library with donations

April 28, 2014

Illinois Democrats want $100 million in tax dollars to help build President Obama's library. Illinois owes nearly $7 billion in overdue bills; has a $100 billion pension deficit; is threatening to cut $100 million from programs if the temporary tax is not made permanent.

House Speaker Michael Madigan (Democrat) says the money would be borrowed, but doesn't know how the state would pay it back. Duh.

All presidential libraries have been built with donations, but our Illinois Democrats think tax money should be used to build Obama's library.

It does not make sense to me, but I'm sure some of the die-hard letter writers who are Democrats would love to donate some money.
