Highland High School Seniors Shane Campbell and Joe Bardill caught a five-fish limit of 17.27 pounds to win the Coffeen Lake Sectional bass fishing championship that was held Friday.
Seniors Eric Luitjohan and Austin Niggli caught a five-fish limit of 16.81 pounds to take second place at the Coffeen Sectional.
The Granite City team of Eddie Lemman and Jonathan Ozanich won third place with a 15.86-pound catch.
The top three teams from each sectional across the state advance to the IHSA State Tournament that will be held May 9-10 on Carlyle Lake.
From the Coffeen Sectional, they include:
Highland No. 1: Bardill, Campbell and Blake Schumacher; driver Jon Rinderer.
Highland No. 2: Luitjohan, Niggli and Michael Frank; driver Scott Sautman.
Granite City: Eddie Lemman and Jonathan Ozanich; driver Ed Lemman.
