Don't forget a jacket; below normal temperatures are back

If you put your jacket away for the spring, you might want to dig it out of the closet.

The temperature will peak at 57 degrees Wednesday in the metro-east, according to the National Weather Service. That's 15 degrees cooler than the average high of 72 for April 30 in the St. Louis area.

There is a 20 percent chance of isolated showers Wednesday with the most likely times for rain being before 8 a.m. and after 5 p.m.

Overnight the low will drop to 42.

The temperature range will be the same Thursday with a high of 57 and a low of 42 under mostly cloudy skies.

Things will start to warm back up Friday when the high will be 64 under mostly sunny skies. It will be mostly sunny on Saturday and Sunday with high temperatures in the low- to mid-70s.
