May is full of metro-east 5K runs, walks

Spring has sprung and runners are hitting the pavement. Here's a roundup of some 5-kilometer(and longer) runs and walks during May in the metro-east.

Holy Trinity Titan Trot 5K and Fun Run

8 a.m. Saturday

Holy Trinity School, 504 Fountains Parkway, Fairview Heights

$25 for 5K (includes T-shirt); $10 for kids Fun Run (does not include shirt)

The second annual run is put on by the National Junior Honor Society and benefits Holy Trinity and the D.A.R.E. program.

Law Day Run

9 a.m. Saturday

North High and East A streets, Belleville

$30 for adult 5K; $15 for age 18 and younger; $12 for 1K Fun Run

The 13th annual event benefits the Land of Lincoln Legal Foundation, which provides legal services to low-income residents and seniors.

$50 half marathon

Competitive half marathon through Maryville on the Schoolhouse Trail and Goshen MCT Bike Trails.

Go Army 5K & Kids Fun Run

Scheve Park, Mascoutah

The run is put on by the Scott Army Booster Club, a private, nonprofit, which fosters morale for U.S. Army personnel and families assigned to Scott Air Force Base.
