A shed manufacturer has bolstered its foothold in the metro-east.
Arrow Storage Products has relocated its corporate offices to Breese, where for the past five decades the company has been building steel sheds that can be found in backyards across the country. Within the past three months, the company has consolidated its operations to its plant in Clinton County.
President and Chief Executive Officer Paul D'Aloia, who came on board in July 2012, said the company has just moved its home base from Haskell, New Jersey, to Breese.
"It was for efficiency sake," D'Aloia said. "We operate well under one roof and we've become more efficient with the head count we have."
The privately held company employs 140 at its 260,000-square-foot plant 1101 N. Fourth St. in Breese. The move has also created 10 new jobs while the company maintains its coating plant in New Jersey.
"We've added capacity in our storage space, added office space and added people," D'Aloia said. "To really have a safe and productive environment. We have done some more renovation and spiffed up the place. It is well run and well kept. We've been able to use the office space we have and storage we have."
Arrow produces 7,000 to 11,000 units a week between its two production shifts. By the end of this year, the company will have shipped more than 13 million sheds around the world since it was founded in 1962.
"It's gone extremely well," D'Aloia said. "We're pleased with how business is progressing. We are pleased to see spring begin."
