Senator's near miss should have made news

Did you see the video of Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal's recent press conference about rail safety? It's worth looking up.

He stood in the yellow caution area of a commuter train platform as a speeding train missed him by mere inches. The Milford, Conn., mayor said, "Safety is paramount," at the precise moment the train passed.

The short, shocking video, unbelievable irony of the presser's purpose and timing of the mayor's statement all beg for media attention. In fact, the Daily Mail of the United Kingdom covered the near tragedy, but it's probably just a coincidence that the American mainstream media ignored a Democrat looking like a complete buffoon.
