Three months later, police capture fugitive in pistol-whipping case

A fugitive wanted by metro-east authorities has been arrested in Missouri.

Dejuan Hoskins allegedly broke into an apartment in February Edwardsville with an accomplice and pistol-whipped a person who lived there. Police said the victim suffered injuries to his head.

Edwardsville Director of Police Jay Keeven said he was glad that Hoskins, who remains jailed in Missouri, is off the streets. He said Illinois authorities are working with Missouri leaders to extradite him here for prosecution.

Police did not say in which Missouri town Hoskins was located other than to say it was the southeastern part of the state.
