It's futile to fight city hall

May 6, 2014

This is in reply to letters from Thomas Sweeney and Bill Grass.

Residents of Aviston were told to recycle whether or not we want to because the waste company told the village everyone had to agree or there would be no recycling. I even wrote the Illinois attorney general and was told it was not her concern.

So I decided to reconsider. You can't fight city hall. At least I'm saving trash bags.

One thing that should have been asked for was a percentage of the waste company's profit, which Aviston did not do.
