Motorcyclist killed in collision with Budweiser truck

A motorcyclist was killed in an early Wednesday accident at the intersection of Missouri Avenue and Konzen Court in Granite City.

The accident happened at just after 6 a.m., according to Granite City Police Department reports. The victim was identified as Jeffrey Pride, 44, of South Roxana.

Police said Pride was traveling south on Missouri Avenue toward its intersection with Konzen Court when he struck the tractor trailer which was turning north from Konzen Court onto Missouri Avenue. Pride was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the crash is still under investigation. It has not been announced if any tickets are expected in relation to the accident.

Konzen court is a small access road that leads to an industrial area located between Missouri Avenue and Illinois 3 just south of West Pontoon Road.
