— A 46-year-old woman and her boyfriend were charged Wednesday with three misdemeanor counts each of endangering the life and health of a child after the mother of a 3-year-old girl reported the child missing.

Markee Garner, of 1323 Gaty Ave., and Everett E. Cole Sr., 50, also of 1323 Gaty Ave., were charged with the offenses.

Garner is accused of drinking alcohol and smoking crack and marijuana while baby-sitting Ronesha Milner. Cole is accused of drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana while caring for the girl.

Police said sometime after Garner became impaired, Ronesha was left in the care of another individual.

Ronesha was reported missing early Tuesday by her mother. After media reports about Ronesha, a woman called police to say that she was caring for Ronesha, who was not injured.

Cole also was charged with one misdemeanor count of obstructing identification. He is accused of giving a false name to an East St. Louis detective.

Garner and Cole were in the East St. Louis jail Wednesday. Garner's bail is $25,000 and Cole's bail is $20,000.
