Storms in the forecast through the weekend

The potential of rain showers and thunderstorms will linger over the metro-east for the next several days.

There is a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms in the forecast Friday, according to the National Weather Service, when the high temperature is expected to be 79 degrees.

The chance of rain is expected to dwindle to 30 percent Friday night with most of the precipitation expected before 7 p.m. Skies will becomes partly cloudy with a low of 58.

There is a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms predicted Saturday during the daytime hours when the high temperature will be 82. The chance of rain will increase to 50 percent over the evening hours when the low will be 64.

There is a 40 percent chance of rain forecast for Sunday with a high of 83. The likelihood of rain Sunday evening is 30 percent when the low will be 69.

A 50 percent chance of rain is expected Monday and Tuesday.
