May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. This serves as a great reminder for everyone to literally take a good look at themselves in the mirror. That includes all the places where the sun doesn't shine, too, as skin cancer can show up pretty much anywhere. Don't forget to inspect between the toes, the bottoms of the feet, and all those more intimate nooks and crannies.
If anything irregular is spotted, it should be promptly reported to your physician. Better to error on the conservative side rather than take a chance.
Some forms of skin cancer can kill you while others will just leave various areas of your skin looking like your old favorite pair of socks that have been stitched and restitched over the years. It's a classic case of "pay me now or pay me later" type advice.
