Belle-Clair won't race tonight

News-DemocratMay 15, 2014

For the third consecutive Friday, there will be no racing at Belle-Clair Speedway after the track called off today's scheduled card because of all the recent rain.

There was racing at Belle-Clair last Saturday, as Christopher Bell of Norman, Okla., battled defending Chili Bowl champion Bryan Clauson and non-wing sprint car star Kevin Thomas Jr. to take his fifth POWRi Midgets win of the 2014 season.

Bell pulled away from the field, finishing a second and a half ahead of Clauson and third place finisher Rico Abreu.

Also, Joe B. Miller stole the checkers from Aaron Andruskevitch on the last lap to take his second POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series Victory of 2014.

Tri-City Speedway

Thunderstorms and heavy rain last week forced the cancellation of last Friday's "Hut Hundred" Honda USAC National Midget Race at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach. The National Midgets return to Tri-City Speedway Oct. 2-4 for the Gold Crown Midget Nationals.

The track resumes its regular racing program Friday.

Highland Speedway

Highland Speedway has its Miller Lite Military Night promotion Saturday along with its regular racing program.

Federated Auto Parts Raceway

Randy Korte (Late Models), Michael Long (Modifieds), Troy Medley (Sportsman) and Travis Bittle (Pro 4) were the feature winnings last Saturday at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo.

Racing continues Saturday in all divisions.
