Jack Schmitt Chevrolet of Wood River has broken ground on a state-of-the-art dealership in Wood River.
Fairview Heights-based Impact Strategies is developing the 11-acre site at 1870 East Edwardsville Road. The dealership will take the place of Schmitt's existing Chevrolet lot at 1401 Vaughn Road in town.
The dealership is scheduled to open by September.
At Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, Frontier Airlines has expanded its service with new destinations. On June 13, Frontier will being offering flights to San Francisco and Trenton, NJ. On June 15, Frontier will begin nonstop service to Portland, Ore. The airline will begin flying nonstop between St. Louis and Washington Dulles International Airport beginning Sept. 8. Artist Natalie Kelsey will soon open an art gallery in downtown Belleville. Blissfull Living Studio is expected to open its doors at 1901 W. Main St. before the end of this week. The studio, who's motto is "find, treasure, create," will also be home for exhibits and workshops.
