Students injured in Mascoutah school bus accident

Two Mascoutah children were injured Monday morning by broken glass when their school bus sideswiped a stop sign, smashing a side window.

Mascoutah Police Chief Bruce Fleshren said the accident happened around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Green and North Jefferson streets.

The students, one 11 and one 13, had minor cuts from breaking glass. They were treated by paramedics at the scene and were released to their parents.
