Man charged with throwing boulder through motel window

May 21, 2014

— A 20-year-old Washington Park man who allegedly threw a 90-pound boulder into the window of a Caseyville motel where his girlfriend and her two children were staying was charged Tuesday with criminal trespass to property.

Scrivens R. Williams, of 6104 N. Park Drive, also was charged with endangering the life of a child. The two unnamed children who were in the room are ages 2 and 4, Acting Caseyville Police Chief Scott Miller said.

The arrest warrant said Williams threw a boulder through the window and it bounced off a bed, nearly striking the children.

The incident occurred at 4:47 a.m. Sunday at First Western Inn, 8787 Sasak St., Miller said.

Bail for Williams was set at $20,000.
