Major Case Squad seeks man in Madison homicide

The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis on Wednesday released a photo of man they are seeking in connection with the shooting death of a 43-year-old man on Monday in Madison.

Kenneth C. Deal of Venice died after he was taken to a hospital.

Investigators believe the man in the photo has information about Deal's death.

Police described the person as a light skinned black male believed to be in his mid 20s, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall to 6 feet tall and about 160 pounds. He has a tattoo on his left hand that is a star with the number 5 in the middle of the star.

The man is known to frequent both sides of the Mississippi River in the metro area.

In the photograph, he is wearing a St. Louis Cardinals hat, a red hooded sweatshirt, a navy blue jacket and camouflage jeans.

Also, police released a photo of a bicycle described as a 20-inch Eastern boys bicycle that was originally blue and black, but it now has been spray painted gold.

Anyone with information about this bike is asked to call investigators.

Police have recovered a maroon 1988 Oldsmobile Regency 98 in connection with the case. Investigators want to talk to anyone who may have seen this vehicle from Saturday night to Monday.

CrimeStoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest in this homicide.
