What's happening at the yogurt bar in downtown Belleville?

Peachy Yogurt Bar in downtown Belleville is now Junction Coffee & Frozen Yogurt.

The eatery at 200 E. Main St. opened in 2011 and now includes coffee from the Goshen Coffee Co. in Edwardsville. You can still reach them at the same number: 618-416-6404.

The owner of public painting studio Sips n Splatters in Belleville and Maryville is expanding his other art party venue in downtown Belleville. David Brandt opened Splatter Mania at 6 S. Church St. in January. That venue is for kids and families to get together and create art. Brandt said he plans to use his new adjoining space, at 8 S. Church St., for his franchising office. You can find Sips n Splatters a few blocks at 15 S. High St. and at 27 Executive Plaza Court in Maryville.

A Caseyville hotel owner has not renewed his contract with Days Inn and has decided to operate as an independent inn keeper. The former Days Inn at 8950 Tucker Drive has been renamed Rodeway Inn, but remains under the same ownership with the same service. You can still reach the hotel at 618-397-4200.

Civil engineering firm Volkert Inc. has relocated in Collinsville into the former Sanford-Brown College building. The Mobile, Ala.-based civil engineering firm had operated in Collinsville for the past 10 years and now employs 50 working within a portion of the former college building at 1101 Eastport Plaza Drive. Sanford-Brown College is a two-year private college that offers health, business, design and technology courses. The $3.7 million, 23,000-square-foot metro-east campus was built for Sanford-Brown and opened in 2004. Another 7,000 square feet was added two years later. In December 2012, the college announced that it was closing the metro-east campus based on a performance evaluation. Sanford vacated the building earlier this year. Raging Rivers WaterPark in Grafton opened Saturday for its 25th season. The Collinsville Area Recreation District also opened Splash City waterpark this past weekend.

John Eichenlaub, of the Barber Murphy Group in Shiloh, says Allstate has opened an office at 4224 Illinois 159, Suite B, in Glen Carbon. Agent Michael Weis is working in the office and you can reach him at 618-205-6060.

And finally, on this Memorial Day, the folks from Denny's in Belleville and O'Fallon are saluting the active, inactive and retired military personnel with free stacks of pancakes beginning today through June 8. Those with a valid military ID can order the free meal at Denny's restaurants located at 1130 S. Illinois St. in Belleville and 737 W. Highway 50 in O'Fallon. The Belleville restaurant also offers a 15 percent discount year-round to all military, law enforcement, first responders and fire department personnel with proof of service. In O'Fallon military personnel receive 10 percent discount every day and 20 percent off on Thursdays.
