St. Louis Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher will host his annual "Coach Fisher & Friends" Celebrity Softball Game on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Illinois. "GCS Ballpark provides an intimate setting for fans to get an up-close look at some of their favorite players and see their personalities away from the football field. Everyone in attendance has a blast from the players to the fans. "

Looking ahead

After the road trip to Schaumburg, Gateway returns home Friday to the friendly confines of GCS Ballpark to kick off a six-game homestand.

Some promotions during this upcoming homestand: Friday is a "Bark in the Ballpark Night." Sunday is a "Jersey Off The Back Night." Tuesday and Thursday against Rockford are a pair of MVP program nights.

Ballpark additions

The brand new video board should be up and operational by Friday night's game. Grizzlies officials hope its going to add a great new element to the game day experience.

There is also work being done on the press box. The club will have new glass windows installed to the press box by week's end.

Quote of the week

Gateway rookie first basemen Ben Waldrip was asked after Monday's win: Why has this Grizzlies team off to such a hot start?

"First thing is the chemistry. Since Phil (Warren) finalized the roster, the group of guys we have just clicked," Waldrip said. "When one guy isn't going good, the next guy picks him up. We have a great group of guys, a great coaching staff, so hopefully we can keep things rolling."
