Belleville Bicentennial Exhibition accepting items

Residents who have had objects accepted into the Belleville Bicentennial Exhibition: 200 are reminded to bring those items to the Schmidt Art Center at Southwestern Illinois College from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

The exhibit, which will feature 200 items that span Belleville's history, will debut with a VIP reception on July 2. It will open to the public July 3 and run through Aug. 14. For more information, go to www.swic.edu/sac or belleville200.org.

It is being presented by the Belleville Bicentennial History and Archives Committee, including the William and Florence Schmidt Art Center, St. Clair County Historical Society, Labor and Industry Museum, Belleville Historical Society, Gustave Koerner House Committee and the St. Clair County Genealogical Society.
