Thunderstorms a threat this week

The threat of thunderstorms will loom over the metro-east Monday with a 50 percent chance of rain throughout the day.

The high temperature is expected to be 83 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, with steady winds out of the south at 10-14 mph.

The chance of thunderstorms drops to 30 percent overnight, when the low temperature will be 69.

On Tuesday and Wednesday a chance of storms will again be in the forecast.

Skies are expected to be mostly sunny Tuesday with a high of 88. But there is a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms popping up throughout the day.

On Wednesday skies will be partly sunny with a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms. Winds will be gusty, up to 24 mph, and the high temperature will be 89.
