Additional candidate files for Madison County Board

June 3, 2014

EDWARDSVILLE - One additional candidate for Madison County Board filed Monday before the deadline, according to county clerk Debra Ming-Mendoza.

Democrat Will Hanfelder filed to run in county board District 5, challenging Republican Mick Madison.

One other Democrat and a Republican filed in time to run against incumbent county board members by the deadline Monday, though the Madison County Republican Party declined to nominate a candidate to oppose Democrat John Lakin as county sheriff. Independent candidates still have a few weeks to file.
