The northside roundabout at Illinois 15 and Centreville Avenue will be open to all traffic on Monday afternoon, weather permitting.
The Illinois Department of Transportation reported Friday that the project, originally set for completion in November, is nearly complete. As of Friday morning, workers were doing sign placement and asphalt work.
Crews will likely remove barriers on Monday afternoon, said Tom Borsch, project engineer for IDOT.
In addition to opening the roundabout to traffic eastbound on Illinois 15, the state will open the South Belt to through traffic for the first time since major work began on the second roundabout.
