Spot storms likely Thursday afternoon

Afternoon thunderstorms are likely in the metro-east Thursday with a 50 percent chance of wet weather after 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Skies will be partly sunny in the morning. But they're expected to become increasingly cloudy throughout the day. The high temperature Thursday is expected to reach 82 degrees.

The chance of rain and storms remains at 40 percent Thursday evening. Rain is expected to taper off after 10 p.m.

On Friday, skies are expected to be sunny with a high of 82. Sunny skies and a high of 82 are also expected Saturday.

But the chance of rain and thunderstorms returns Sunday and will extend into the work week.
