Can't condone prisoner swap

June 12, 2014

The 70th anniversary of D-Day last Friday honored those thousands who sacrificed all for the future of their children, their families, their nation, and the free world.

But even before this sacred, solemn day, another event was taking place that pales in the annals of dishonor, irresponsibility, disrespect, ignoring congress and the military code of conduct.

I hold in high regard heroes, patriots, military personnel and true citizens with allegiance to America. I do not respect those who disregard their sworn duty to their country, their comrades in arms and military code of conduct, or those who condone these questionable activities.

Therefore I cannot condone the illegal authorized exchange of five high-level terrorists for one soldier of suspect actions.

The timing of this event is even more disturbing, showing total disregard for following congressional protocol and exposing their dictatorial attitude toward the nation. Action should be taken to correct this attitude.
