He is accused of causing a three-car crash Sunday at 17th Street and Bond Avenue in East St. Louis that claimed the life of 86-year-old East St. Louis resident Helen J. Bush.

William J. Welmon, 35, of 2203 E. 23rd St. in Granite City, has been charged with aggravated driving under the influence causing a death and reckless homicide in connection with an early morning crash on April 18 along Illinois 4.

The vehicle rolled several times in a field near Mud Creek Road. Daniel Pocrnich, 31, of Sparta, was ejected and found trapped underneath the truck, which came to a rest on all four of its wheels. Pocrnich died of massive trauma to the head and neck.
