A Glen Carbon man has been accused of using the U.S. Postal Service to deliver illegal drugs.

According to police, Evan Schaefer, 22, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver after a postal inspector in Missouri noticed a suspicious package. The Postal Service later verified, with the assistance of a drug-sniffing dog, that the package contained marijuana.

The charge carries a potential sentence of up to seven years in prison.
