— A 32-year-old Belleville man was shot in the head at 48th Street and Caseyville Avenue early Thursday, police said.

Police did not identify the victim.

Washington Park Detective James Mister said the wound the victim sustained was not life-threatening.

Mister said police received a call reporting a shooting of a motorist in the area of 48th and Caseyville. Mister said the victim managed to drive to the Mobil convenient mart located in the 1400 block of Kingshighway. "Police went to the Mobil and found the victim there," Mister said.

The victim's car had several bullet holes in it. Police recovered a gun from inside of the victim's car. The victim was taken to a St. Louis area hospital, where he appears to be in good condition, Mister said.

No motive has been established for the shooting.
