It takes a village plan for Washington Park

June 20, 2014

Dear to my heart: to protect and serve the good people in Washington Park. We must have good police and fire protection as we had when I was a volunteer firefighter for 14 years. We are in emergency need of volunteer firefighters who live in the village. Thank God for mutual aid from State Park, Caseyville and other fire departments. Thank God for the Illinois State Police, St. Clair County Sheriff, U.S. Marshal and K-9 police dogs.

We now do have excellent trash pickup from Aspen.

Our Mayor Angie Ann Rodgers and Police Chief A. Keller are working hard with the full support of the village trustees. As a former village trustee, I know that it takes good teamwork. It takes dedication and a lot of hard work from everyone. It's easy to point the finger at someone and blame them. Our goal is to hire three police sergeants, one for each shift , with one patrolman. This will beef up our Police Department.

The illegal dumping day and night in the village is one big problem. We need a hard-working street superintendent.
