Academic achievements

* Allyson Renth of Mascoutah received a bachelor of science in neuroscience with honors from St. Louis University during its annual commencement ceremony May 16. Renth, a 2010 graduate of Mascoutah High, will be attending Creighton University School of Medicine in the fall.

* Stefanie M. Dorf, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Steven E. Dorf of Marissa, has graduated from St. Louis University with a master's degree in business administration. She is currently employed as a real estate trust officer at Commerce Trust Company in Clayton, Mo.

* Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo., awarded more than 200 Dutile Scholars Awards to prospective students. Local students who received the scholarship include:

* Mariah Christ of Belleville is a student at Belleville Township High School East. She is the daughter of Mike and Wendy Christ.

* Schuyler Czech of Freeburg is a student at Freeburg High School. She is the daughter of Ed and Gail Czech.

* Brandon Eardley of Granite City is a student at Granite City Senior High School. He is the son of Mark Crabtree and Dawn Eardley.

* Alexandrea Endsley of Godfrey is a student at Alton High School. She is the daughter of Robert and Julie Endsley.

* Sarah Haddock of Collinsville is a student at Collinsville High School. She is the daughter of Paul and Rebecca Haddock.

* Victoria Harbison of Glen Carbon is a student at Edwardsville Senior High School. She is the daughter of Jim and Cindy Harbison.

* Zoe Ann Large of Staunton is a student at Staunton Community High School. She is the daughter of Roger and Laura Large.

* Braden Steffaniak of Edwardsville is a student at Edwardsville Senior High School. He is the son of Gary and Beth Steffaniak.

* Justin Nicholas Monaco of Edwardsville has achieved academic ranking in the top 2 percent of students in the College of Design at Iowa State University.

* Quiana Renee Hampton of Edwardsville has achieved academic ranking in the top 2 percent of students in the College of Business at Iowa State University.

* O'Fallon native Keely Zimmerman, a sophomore at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo., received the annual Newman Civic Fellows Award for her service and leadership efforts.

* Maria Hemann of Breese and Ryan Frueh of Lebanon were inducted into the University of Illinois Springfield Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society chapter. Both are students at the College of Business and Management.

* Sparta resident Michaela Crabtree, daughter of Erick and Sandy Crabtree, has been named a resident assistant at Eastern Illinois University for the 2014-2015 school year. Crabtree, a freshman kinesiology major, will begin her job as a RA starting in August.

* Arthur Martin, a student at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn., was inducted into Alpha Chi National College Honor Society. Martin is a junior social work major from Swansea.

* Donna Marie Meyers from Belleville received a doctor of nursing practice degree from the College of Social Sciences at Loyola University New Orleans.

* Lauren Jones, a psychology/political science major from Belleville, was recognized as a Rising Star by Bradley University in Peoria.

* Jerrion De'Vonta Shell of Belleville graduated with a bachelor of science from the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
