Madison County to host public meeting on heroin abuse

News-DemocratJune 24, 2014

The Madison County Heroin Task Force will hold a public meeting Wednesday to discuss ways of helping people to kick the habit if they are hooked on the potentially deadly drug.

Rebecca Mowen, a board-registered interventionalist and certified drug and alcohol counselor will discuss how drug interventions work and why they are a good option for families with a heroin-addicted member.

The task force was formed in February by Madison County State's Attorney Tom Gibbons and Sheriff Bob Hertz.

The meeting will be held at 1:30 in the county board room of the Madison County Administration Building at 157 N. Main St. in Edwardsville.
