No. 1,000 — Craig Wheeler, an SJH valet parking volunteer, holds a sign commemorating the 1,000th valet parking patron to utilize the service on Thursday, June 19.

About 10 months after first being introduced, the valet parking service at St. Joseph’s Hospital (SJH) in Highland surpassed the 1,000th patron on Thursday, June 19.

No matter the weather or reason for the visit, SJH offers complimentary valet parking to patients and visitors year-round. The SJH valet parking service is available Monday through Friday and provides additional convenience to anyone visiting the hospital.

“The first impression for a hospital visit begins the moment our patients and guests arrive and ends only when they leave the hospital grounds,” said Peggy Sebastian, president and CEO of SJH. “The valet parking service is another way we are creating a unique experience for our patients and guests as well as providing them with a safe, comfortable and convenient environment close to home.”

Valet parking was introduced on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 — the same day the new SJH campus opened its doors to the public. Since that time the service has continued to grow steadily in popularity. The valet parking service is one of the new volunteer opportunities at the new SJH designed to maximize customer service for those coming to the new hospital campus.

The valet parking service is located at the main entrance of the new SJH, under the overhead canopy. Valet signs located along the hospital’s entry drive off Troxler Avenue lead patients and visitors to the valet service’s drop-off and pick-up location. Also, patients and visitors who have appointments at physician offices located within the adjacent Medical Office Building are encouraged to utilize the valet parking service as well. So no matter if the weather is wet, dry, sunny and nice or snowy and ice, the SJH valet parking service is available to make your visit to SJH more accommodating and convenient.

Individuals interested in volunteering at SJH as a valet parking volunteer can call (618) 651-2590.
