Missouri police nab suspect in Collinsville after two-state chase

After a two-state chase that ended in Collinsville, Missouri police finally apprehended a suspect wanted for assaulting an officer late Wednesday.

The attack happened in Pine Lawn, Mo. and the suspect led officers on a pursuit that led across the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge into the metro-east.

According to police, the chase went from Interstate 55-70 to Interstate 255 south. The suspect attempted to exit the highway at Collinsville Road and crashed at about 11:10 p.m. near the Jack in the Box.

A Pine Lawn officer took the suspect into custody. Illinois State Police and the Collinsville Police Department assisted in the pursuit.

The suspect has not been identified.
