Afternoon storms possible Thursday

A 30 percent chance of thunderstorms is in the forecast Thursday for the metro-east.

The high temperature is expected to reach 87 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, with the most likely chance of rain coming after 1 p.m.

The chance of storms will continue into the evening hours before the weather system starts to break up sometime between 10 p.m. and midnight.

On Friday, skies are expected to be mostly sunny during the morning. But a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms enters the forecast for the afternoon. The high will be 86.

A 30 percent chance of thunderstorms is expected Saturday, with a 40 percent chance Sunday. The high should be 88 both days.
