News-DemocratJune 27, 2014

Thunderstorms are likely Friday across the metro-east with the best chance of rain coming between noon and 3 p.m.

The National Weather Service has pegged the chance of rain at 60 percent with a high temperature of 85 degrees.

But it's going to feel hotter than that thanks to sticky conditions. The humidity at 7 a.m. stood at 96 percent.

The chance of thunderstorms will diminish to 30 percent during the evening hours, when skies are expected to be mostly cloudy. The low will drop to 70.

A 30 percent chance of thunderstorms is expected Saturday during the daytime hours. Otherwise, skies will be partly cloudy with a high of 86.

The chance of storms will increase to 40 percent Saturday night and 50 percent Sunday, when the high will be 89.
