No need for new hospital

June 28, 2014

I see no need to have a new hospital and close St. Elizabeth's in Belleville. The hospital has been here for many years. No one has complained and it is wrong to move or build a new one because richer people live in O'Fallon and it would be closer to Scott Air Force Base. Scott has an empty hospital it could use.

I am older, as are most downtown old-timers still in their homes, and have heart trouble. There is no way I can travel seven miles and stay alive.

There is no need for a new hospital unless they leave the one downtown as well. Tell the state the need is not there.
