Men's hockey

LU-Belleville signs two forwards

BELLEVILLE -- The Lindenwood University-Belleville men's hockey program and head coach Lindsay Middlebrook have announced the signing of Landon Hiebert and Duane Wainman for the 2014-15 season.

The two forwards competed at the junior A level in Canada's Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.

The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Heibert Hiebert joins the Lynx after splitting the 2013-14 season with the Abitibi Eskimos of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League and the Flin Flon Bombers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. The Red Deer, Alberta, Canada native posted 12 goals and 16 assists in 35 games for Abitibi and scored a goal in 14 games with Flin Flon. In two previous seasons in Flin Flon, he had 17 goals and 16 assists over 87 games.

The 5-9, 170-pound Wainman played for the North Bay Trappers and Espanola Rivermen, both of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League. The Sundridge, Ontario, Canada native began the 2012-13 season with Espanola and posted 12 goals and eight assists before being dealt to North Bay. With the Trappers, Wainman scored five goals and had 17 assists in 26 regular season games. In the playoffs, Wainman netted two goals and an assist in four games.

"Landon and Duane come to Belleville from prestigious Canadian junior programs," said Middlebrook. "They are speedy two-way forwards and I expect them to be high impact players on the ice as well as characters guys who will bring a lot to our locker room and will excel in the classroom."

Highland graduate signs with Lady Lynx

BELLEVILLE -- The Lindenwood University-Belleville women's bowling program and coach Kim Williams have announced the signing of Anna Zobrist for the 2014-15 season.

Zobrist is a graduate of Highland High School. She comes to LU-Belleville after attending Southwestern Illinois College.

In 2012 she had the highest average and highest series on her high school team. During the 2011 season, she was named Bowler of the Year for the junior bowling club. Zobrist's bowled her highest career game in 2014 finishing with a 279. Her highest series came in 2012 when she finished with a 712.

At LU-Belleville, Zobrist plans on studying elementary education.

Women's track and field

LU-Belleville signs Missouri standout

BELLEVILLE -- The Lindenwood Univesity-Belleville women's track and field program and coach Chris Sandefur have announced the signing of Destinee Harris for the 2014-15 season.

Harris is a graduate of Farmington (Mo.) High School. In high school, Harris was named all-conference and all-district all four years. In 2012, she was a state qualifier and in 2013 she was named the Haile Memorial high point track and field athlete. Harris is also a school record holder at Farmington.

Academically, Harris was a scholar athlete and had perfect attendance. She was the recipient of numerous scholarships including the College Now, the ETS, the Farmington Education Foundation, and the Farmington Elks Foundation. Harris also was a member of the National Honor Society and the Scholar Bowl.

At LU-Belleville, Harris plans on studying criminal justice.

Women's golf

Lady Lynx add Missouri golfer to team

BELLEVILLE -- The Lindenwood University-Belleville women's golf program and coach Mike Brasher have announced the signing of Victoria Howe for the 2014-15 season.

Howe is a graduate of Lebanon (Mo.) High School. In 2012, Howe advanced to the Missouri State Golf Championships after being named all-conference and all-district.

In the classroom, Howe was a four time all-academic member and a member of the National Honor Society. Howe also received the Teacher's Letter of Academic Excellence.

Howe plans on studying public relations and marketing at LU-Belleville.

Men's golf

Lynx adds pair from Ireland, Sweden

BELLEVILLE -- The Lindenwood University-Belleville men's golf team and coach Mike Brasher have announced the signing of Keith Murphy and Erik Jonasson for the 2014 -15 season.

Murphy is a native of Dublin, Ireland and a graduate of Oatlands College. He was a runnerup at the All Ireland Top Golfer competition and currently a club champion at Charlesland Golf Course. Murphy is also the current holder of the Country Wicklow Senior Scratch Cup and Under 19 Scratch Trophy at the Stackstown Golf Course.

Murphy plans on studying business at LU-Belleville.

Jonasson is a native of Danderyd, Sweden and a graduate of Danderyds Gymnasium Sweden. In 2014 Jonasson took third place at the National Skandia Tour in Sweden. During the 2013 season Jonasson was named the Junior of the Year at the Djorsholm Golf Club.

Jonasson plans on studying business administration at LU-Belleville.
