O'Fallon's Marching Panthers captured first placed in the Veiled Prophet parade Friday taking home a $5,000 prize.

The O'Fallon Township High School marching band was one of five bands from the metro-east to place in the 2014 Liberty Drum Challenge held during the annual parade in St. Louis.

Belleville East High School took second place with a $3,000 prize, Collinsville High School finished in fourth place with a $500 prize, and Alton High School placed fifth winning a $500 prize. A marching band from Winona, Minn., won third place and received a $1,000 prize.
