Heat index will climb above 100

After unseasonably cool weather last week, summer is back with a vengeance Monday with a high temperature of 93 degrees and a heat index of 102.

There is a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms in the National Weather Service forecast with the most likely chance of rough weather coming after 2 p.m.

The likelihood of storms will increase to 70 percent overnight when the low will drop to 73. The best chance for storms will come after 1 a.m.

There is a 60 percent chance of storms throughout the day Tuesday. But the temperature will be more moderate with an expected high of 85 and an overnight low of 64.

On Wednesday the high temperature is expected to be 84 under sunny skies.
